On 8th of March, SCMS Pune hosted a memorable Alumni Meet, welcoming back the esteemed graduates of the batch 2004-07 after 20 years since their graduation. The event was a jubilant occasion, graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Pro Chancellor of SIU Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar , Former Dean– Academics and Administration, Symbiosis and Founder Director of SCMS, Pune -Dr. Bhama Venkataramani, and Former Vice Chancellor of SIU - Lt. Gen. (Retd) Dr. M.A. Tukakne who added an aura of nostalgia and warmth to the gathering.
The festivities commenced with a heartfelt welcome extended to the professors who had imparted knowledge to the batch of 2004-07, alongside the cherished alumni themselves. Following the welcome, an engaging and interactive session unfolded in the AV room, featuring games from the famous Ananya, which served as a delightful trip down memory lane for the alumni.
The alumni were then taken on a tour of the campus, revisiting familiar spaces filled with cherished memories. The main event took place in the auditorium. The event started with melodies of Encore and speeches from faculty and alumni, evoking a strong sense of connection to SCMS Pune. The evening concluded with lively dance performances by Step Up, leaving everyone in high spirits.
Afterward, a delicious dinner was served, providing an opportunity for further conversation and camaraderie among the alumni. Overall, the alumni meet at SCMS Pune was a joyful reunion, bringing together past and present members of the SCMS family to celebrate their shared experiences and lasting bonds.
The AMA session titled "Empower Your Journey: Branding, Communication, and Growth" was an extraordinary experience. Our esteemed alumnus from the batch of 2017-2020, Ms. Muskan Kandoi, took the stage and delivered an inspiring talk that resonated with everyone in attendance.Ms. Kandoi's insights into the critical role of personal branding and effective communication were eye-opening, offering practical strategies for navigating career paths in the corporate world and beyond. The AMA session on Navigating a Career Path in Corporate and Beyond was a resounding success! Our guest speaker, Ms. Alekhya Madiraju, an alumnus from the batch of 2016-2019, captivated the audience by sharing how her college experience shaped her journey and led her to where she is today. Our first AMA session on the Financial Fitness Masterclass was a resounding success! Our guest speaker, Ms. Priya Agarwal, an alumnus from the batch 2016-2019, captivated the audience with her insightful advice and practical tips. Her experiences and expertise truly resonated with everyone, making the session an engaging and enriching experience. We are grateful to Ms. Agarwal for her valuable contribution, and we look forward to more such impactful sessions in the future.
In the insightful session conducted by Mr Vedant Biyani (2012-2015), he shed light on various aspects of college life such as Soft skills and Hard Skills and their importance, the importance of networking, work experience, health, side hustle, and most necessarily on enjoying college life. He also shared how working in different countries nurtured him as an individual and aided him in working in Culturally Diverse environments.
Vedant Biyani is a Tech Enthusiast, an Entrepreneur, and a skilled salesperson working in the position of VP (Sales) at S V Ispat Pvt. Ltd in Pune. He has diverse work experience working in different capacities all over the globe. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

Alumni Cell conducted its first AMA session on the 3rd of July 2023 in TY - D from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm with alumni Ms Kriti Sood and Mr Lavya Bakshi from the 2015 - 2018 Batch. The session was online; however, the students were present offline for the session. It was an informative session for ambitious business students seeking MBA/MiM, learning the application process, resume building, school selection, essay writing, and profile development.
Kriti Sood was the Head of the Marketing Club and Placement Cell at SCMS. She gained experience at PwC and co-founded her own startup. A proud HEC Paris alumna, she was the youngest MBA student in her cohort and is now on her way as a Product Manager at Amazon in Europe.
Lavya Bakshi is a graduate with a diverse background in Financial Modeling, Business Process Improvement, and Risk Management. An MBA graduate from Simon Business School, Rochester, New York, with over 3 years of experience at PwC. He will soon start as the Senior Program Manager at Amazon.

The distinguished guest, Mr. Devansh Shah, gave a captivating introduction to the session to start. He graciously imparted the wealth of experiences and priceless knowledge he had amassed during his extraordinary career in the field of policymaking. He offered the students in attendance a comprehensive understanding of the complex world of creating policies that have an impact on countries and societies as successful professional in this field.
Mr. Devansh Shah graciously answered the eager students' questions and doubts during the interactive portion. He provided thoughtful responses with great diligence and sincerity, giving the participants an understanding of the realities of his line of work, his fellowship experiences, and useful guidance on succeeding both academically and professionally.
During the Q&A portion of the session, a variety of questions were raised, covering everything from the specifics of policy implementation to general advice on surviving college. As he patiently answered each question, Mr. Devansh Shah's knowledge and genuine desire to help the students were obvious, leaving the audience with new information and inspiration.
Mr. Shah emphasised the importance of extracurricular activities in a person's overall development as one of the most important factors. He praised Symbiosis for creating an environment where students have many opportunities to pursue their interests and talents outside of the classroom, developing well-rounded professionals who are prepared to take on the challenges of the outside world.
Alumni Cell conducted its first offline AMA session on the 27th of June 2022 with alumnus Vishal Keswani from the 2013 – 2016 batch. The session was conducted in the TY C classroom for Sales and Distribution students where the alumni talked about his experience and learnings.
Vishal is currently working as a Senior Account Manager at MUNCH:ON in Dubai. He talked with TY students about his life in SCMS, his learnings, and about his career so far. He will also talk about the roles and responsibilities of the Sales Manager. As he is from Dubai, if students have questions on how they can relocate to the Middle East and start a career there, he can guide students for the same too.
The session was intriguing and fruitful as there was a good flow of communication. The students interacted and wanted to know so much about life after SCMS, Key Takeaways from SCMs, etc. He even advised the students about certain decisions they must take in the coming year, leaving the students a lot to think about.

Alumni Cell conducted its second offline AMA session on the 28th of June 2022 with alumnus Simran Ajwani from the 2015 – 2018 batch. The session was conducted in the TY B classroom for Entrepreneurship students where the alumnus talked about her experience and learnings.
Simran spearheaded the first-ever TEDx in SCMS Pune Sympulse fest and was nominated for the 'Best Outgoing Student' Award. She pursued a semester exchange in Berlin and backpacked across 11 European Countries in 4 months while in SCMS, Pune. She received a 100% Merit Scholarship for the MiM program at ESCP Europe Business School and specialized in Entrepreneurship. She co-founded Venture Boss to make entrepreneurship education more accessible and to help, train and coach 1 million young entrepreneurs who can solve local challenges in India by 2026.
After a brief stint as Talent Acquisition Manager in Berlin, she is now working towards a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship. She is also associated with various institutes for researching and designing curricula on topics like 'How to reflect on Entrepreneurial Failure?' and 'Entrepreneurial values for the 21st Century’.
The session was captivating and insightful where the budding entrepreneur students interacted with the alumnus on various aspects. Simran also talked about life after SCMS, Key Takeaways from SCMS, and other aspects of the start-up ecosystem.

A very enthusiastic entrepreneur from the batch 2013 – 2016 conducted a third AMA session in SCMS, Pune campus on the 13th of July 2022 – Deeksha Dadlani. SY students pursuing Consumer Behaviour and Insights specialization attended the session where they learned about the importance and role of consumer behavior for an entrepreneur.
Deeksha Dadlani our alumnus was accompanied by Niraj co-founder and husband. She is a perfect example of an Indian Talent homecoming - where she decided to return to India to start her own venture after working in Singapore for many years. Alumni Cell conducted its fourth offline AMA session on the 18th of August 2022 with alumnus Diptaunsh Pardeshi from the 2009 – 2012 batch. The session was conducted in the SY E classroom for Research Methodology students where the alumni talked about his experience and learnings in Sports and its facility Management and Exercise Science.
Diptaunsh was awarded as the best outgoing student-athlete in SCMS, Pune. In his professional journey, he worked as a Senior Information Technology at iPlaceUSA where he was responsible for technical, nontechnical, and volume hiring. Thereafter, he worked as a senior recruiter at Apex Systems. Owing to his great passion for sports, he went on to pursue his MBA in sport and fitness administration from Deakin University, Australia. In 2014, he joined Hawthorn Basketball Association as a Basketball Referee and Coach. Subsequently, he joined multi-fit wellness as a club manager, facility in charge and operations head. He also served as Sports and Family Manager – Operations Head at David Lloyd Leisure.
He was an elite Indian International Athlete and Mr. Asia Bronze Medalist 2019 for India.
The session was intriguing and engaging and interactive. The students were all happy to know a very different perspective of research in Sports Science. Alumni Cell conducted its fifth AMA session on the 22nd of August 2022 with alumnus Satyam Khandelwal from the 2007 – 2010 batch. The session was conducted in the SY D classroom for Banking students where the alumni talked about his experience as a career coach and motivated students for opportunities in the banking sector.
Satyam is an experienced professional specializing in strategic partnerships and alliances, primarily in the ed-tech, learning, and development space. He works as a Career Growth Expert assisting students and early-stage working professionals in identifying their passion and developing a plan to align that with their careers. Over 5000 students and professionals have been mentored by him, and he has been invited to speak at prestigious institutions such as IIT Chennai, IIM Raipur, FMS Delhi, IBS Hyderabad, and IMT Ghaziabad. He was awarded as the Emerging Education Icon of India by new press media, Mumbai, in 2016. He is now currently associated with Virtual Internships-Facilitating global work experience and career mentorships to graduates across India.

Alumni Cell conducted its sixth offline AMA session on the 30th of August 2022 with alumnus Mr. Tapan Unadkat from the 2015- 2018 batch. The session was conducted in the SY-E classroom for Corporate Accounting students where the alumni shared his versatile experiences with the students.
Mr. Tapan Unadkat is currently working as an Estate Agent at Realtors Estate Consultant, Pune. All through his life, he has been very passionate about real estate considering his family history of being a part of real estate industry since decades. He shared his life as a college student at SCMS and his experience of being a part of sports committee and Sprint, Sympulse. He also shared about his experience of being in the college cricket team. He shared some insights regarding the importance of sales and how to become a good salesman through various everyday habits. He mentioned some perks of studying abroad along with his presentation he answered all the questions that were asked by the students regarding their future.
The session encouraged the students to take out time and indulge in various internships and to gain more practical knowledge by building relationships. He explained that this is the right time for them to balance their academics as well as other activities. The session was quite interactive as students constantly shared their views and certainly learned a lot.

Alumni Cell conducted its seventh offline AMA session on the 17th of October 2022 with alumnus Ms. Sukanya Dutta from the 2016- 2019 batch. The session was conducted in the FY-B classroom where the alumni shared her versatile experiences with the students.
Ms. Sukanya Dutta is currently a Management Consultant with PwC Acceleration Centre in their Advisory competency. In her earlier stints, she was an Analyst with the Organization Transformation practice at Deloitte USI.
Her experience encompasses various roles within the HR domain, driving large-scale change projects and providing strategic advisory in workforce transformation. She shared her experience as the General representative of the college in 2018, head of the initiate cell, and head of Ananya, Sympulse. She shared her views on HCM 2.0 and how HR consulting, people analytics, instructional design, and benchmarking are needed for the development of human capital management.
She also talked about the importance of MS Excel in corporate culture and interacted with the students on the grounds of experimenting with new roles in life. The session was interactive as students constantly shared their views and learned a lot.

On October 18, 2022, the alumni cell hosted its eighth AMA Session, which was also the first online session this year, with 2009–12 batch alumnus Mr. Abhinav Verma. The session was conducted in the Computer lab for the students of FY-A. Mr. Abhinav is currently working as a Brand Marketing Head at Glance Collective. He is a skilled individual with shown expertise in data intelligence and content strategy in the marketing and advertising sectors. He possesses expertise in customer insights, media strategy, brand management, market research, and content development. Mr. Abhinav discussed the value of marketing analytics as well as his professional marketing expertise. In addition, he discussed the direction of customer relationship management. The discussion provided a great chance for the students to get answers to any questions they might have had about pursuing a marketing job after graduation.

Alumni Cell conducted its ninth offline AMA session on the 4th of November 2022 with alumnus Shivam Singh from the 2012- 2015 batch. The session was conducted for all the first-year classes in their respective divisions where the alumni shared his versatile experiences with the students.
Shivam is the Founder and CEO of ExploreIt a research-based start-up. He is also the National Coordinator for Youth of the Climate Reality Project, India branch. He was named by Earth Day Network as the leading Asian youth voice for sustainability in 2020.
Along with taking climate action in our community, he has represented youth climate activists at the global UN Climate Change Summit, COP 21-Paris and served as Youth Advisor for India's Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. He talked about the Opportunities for Product Engagement and the importance of doing internships with a focused theme.
He also shared his experience of being a part of sustainable development for years and how it has helped him come this far. He further introduced a project from NITI Aayog called LIFE, for which the organization wanted to invite ideas from colleges and if the selection is done, seed funding will be provided to them. The session was quite interactive as students constantly shared their views and certainly learned a lot.
Alumni Cell conducted its tenth offline AMA session on the 5th of January 2023 with alumnus Mr. Ayush Goyal from the 2014- 2017 batch. The session was conducted in the TY- A classroom for TY students where the alumni shared his versatile experiences with the students.
Mr. Ayush Goyal is the Director of Customer Success at Zooper. He shared his life as a college student at SCMS and all the myriad activities he was a part of. He hosted a very interactive session with the students and his main focus was to clear the doubts and answer the questions for the TY students for their future endeavours.
The session encouraged the students to take out time for themselves and revive their love for extracurricular activities and told them to get out of the comfort zone. He explained that this is the right time for them to achieve a lot in life by exploring. The session was quite interactive as students constantly shared their views and certainly learned a lot.

Alumni Cell conducted its 11th offline AMA session for TY students by Anand Tapadia - a business graduate from Symbiosis with a master’s in Business Management from SP Jain Institute. He is the youngest director at Safepack and holds certifications from the Indian Institute of Packaging (Packaging Technology) , London School of Economics (Entrepreneurship) & Purdue University (Data Analytics). He has over 8+ years of experience with primary focus on Digital Marketing & International Business Development.
He talked about the Opportunities in the gaming industry and the importance of making the most of your time in college. He talked about his career journey from working corporate jobs to joining his family business and adding innovation to it. The session was quite interactive as students constantly shared their views and certainly learned a lot.

She has worked for MGH Logistics as a Senior executive before completing her MBA at SIBM Bengaluru with a finance specialization. She is currently a management trainee at CRISIL, working on absorbing the dynamics of the securities market and understanding investment strategies.
Ms. Renuka talked about the importance of Financial Ratios in understanding business. She also shared her SCMS Pune experience and enlightened the students with her views on the opportunities present in the current market situation in the Finance field. The session was engaging as Ms. Renuka explained how credit agencies work.

Alumni Cell conducted its 13th offline AMA session for the TY students where the alumni shared his versatile experiences with the students. He shared his expertise in the retail industry as well as his own third-generation entrepreneurial experience.
Bhumik discussed how crucial it is for people to establish milestones in their lives and to regularly step outside of their comfort zones. He also spoke about the importance of managing people in retail management. Overall, the lesson was really engrossing and enjoyable. He showed two videos to conclude the session—one about his time in college and the other about his family's business which is a jewellery store in Pune.

Mr. Moiz Anwer Kamil is a Marketer, Humanitarian and Environmentalist and dedicates his time and efforts for humanitarian activities and educating people that social and technological innovation can be leveraged for development (not only economic) with appropriate engagement for societal impact. He is the Director of KaenatCorp India.

He shared his experience of working at Resurgent India as an Assistant Manager and then joining Johnson Modi Capital Ltd. In 2017 she set up Fitato Health Solutions and in the same year, she also started Aatm Nirbhar Learning, a social venture enabling inclusivity in sustainable micro-mobility. She aims to take micro-mobility to girls and women in the remotest parts of India. Here she has mobilized a team of 250+ women training 10,000+ women in 12 cities to ride scooters and work in gig economies. She has partnered with nonprofits, private firms and garnered support from national incubation programmes and govt bodies.
She is also a member of the Global Shapers Hub initiated by the world economic forum that is a network of young people driving dialogue, action and change. She has also worked in projects with Doordarshan Bihar to create video tutorials to teach practical skills to children who couldn’t go to school due to pandemic and has partnered with the UP Govt in 2020 for the pro- poor tourism project funded by world bank to create sustainable livelihoods among women.
She is a recipient of multiple awards such as from the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for creating sustainable livelihoods for women and the Young change makers creating a better world for all award from world economic forum.
She was part of the accelerating women entrepreneur’s cohort conveyed by HSBC bank and Start up India and has been featured in several articles in times of India business standard quint and many more. She spoke about the challenges faced in her startup and why she felt it was important to address them. She mentioned how convincing people about her ideas were hard. It was an extremely insightful session on social entrepreneurship and its lack and importance in today’s society.

It was an engaging session where both the students and the speaker interacted amongst themselves.

Ms. Shairal Dang (Batch 2018-21) has received admits from two prestigious business schools for masters.
Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (for their MBA class of 2024; through their YLP program)
Imperial College Business School, London (for their 1 Year full-time MSc. in International Management).
She briefed about the opportunities a student will be getting after their UG studies, especially in the field of business. She also explained to the students, the importance of balancing both studies and preparation for competitive examinations. Lastly, she shared her experience in her MBA journey, the preparatory phase.
On the 18th of July, our alumnus from the 2008-11 batch, ByungUk Suk (Alan), conducted an AMA session in the FY B class between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. He covered a wide range of topics, from his own personal experience at SCMS and tips for college life to his journey post SCMS and advice on how to plan for the future. Mr. Alan is a Global Business and Strategy Development manager at the Woori Bank. He has had experience in diplomacy, interacting with such figures as Sashi Tharoor and Manohar Parrikar. He has also served two years in the Army along with having completed his Master's in Banking and Finance from South Korea. He advised the students to follow their passion and make sure that the work they were doing excited them. Mr Alan was also formerly on the Student Council at SCMS as an International Representative.
The Alumni Cell organised an AMA session on 7th August, 2018, Tuesday, with alumnus Shivam Singh (batch 2012-15). The AMA was conducted in classes – FY-A, FY-B and FY-E.
Shivam is the co-founder of ExploreIT, a startup that he initiated with a couple of friends. ExploreIT is a research consultancy that tries to connect students and resourceful mentors, to help spread valuable knowledge and information. He has also done his MBA in Human Resources from XLRI, Jamshedpur, just before launching his start up.

The first AMA session conducted by the alumni of the Batch 2011-14 was held amongst the third years on Friday, August 23rd 2019. The guest talked to the students about his journey starting from his own experience as a third year of SCMS wherein he started his own company and how he later gave it up for a job at PWC he obtained via campus placements. He talked in great detail of his struggles of venturing into entrepreneurship and starting another company named ‘Malt’ based off of Jaipur, now established in four cities across the countries and valuation to the north of 5cr. With this he proceeded to discussing the importance of franchising and its benefits as a very successful business model for growth. Jivitesh then individually asked the students to share with him their future plans and the cities they belonged to in order to discuss varying work cultures and the current scenarios along with imparting his helpful personal tips and opinions for the fellow students that he had collected through his experiences in the past couple of years. He also answered questions relating to that of the importance of a post graduate degree and of the work-ex break. Ending a long an interesting session of over an hour with revelations of work life balance and emotional coping with regards to venturing out alone with special mentions of his time at the incubation in Ahmedabad, he wrapped up the session with a satisfied set of students who heartily thanked him for his presence and the alumni, was grateful for the same.

On 22nd June, 2018 the Alumni Cell conducted the first Alumni session for 2018-19 with Alumnus Ali Hashmi (2013-16) who is currently working as an Executive in Retail Measurement Service at Nielsen in Saudi Arabia. Harinder Singh Pelia, Marketing Head of Diesel addressed the students of SY-A on 7th September 2018 and enlightened them with his insights about the various organisational departments. He was asked various questions regarding marketing field and the presumptions about it which he diligently answered, adding anecdotes to support his viewpoint.
He spoke about how SCMS has been a right choice in his life as he has taken back a lot from this institute and proudly associates himself as one of the founding members of Sympulse. He shared with students how Sympulse was formed and discussed how it’s growing day by day.
He also shared his career journey and emphasised on how one can learn better the hard way because that will help them to hone their skills which will eventually benefit them and ended the AMA on a positive note to visit SCMS again.
John Tushar, a freelance entrepreneur in the field of design, enlightened the students of SY-B on 28th November, 2018. He provided the students with a practical output of life after BBA, elucidating them about his various experiences, challenges and the problems faced. He took a brief introduction of each student asking their name, their hobbies and the reason as to why they opted for BBA as their path of career. He further went on to talk about how he got into designing after BBA, how he got his first assignment/job and how his business further escalated. Not only that, he even educated the students with regards to how the biggest marketing and sales company, Google, goes on about making money thereby widening the horizon of available opportunities to students. He also mentioned his work experience with various restaurants like Malabar, Agent Jacks, Shiv Sagar etc. which helped him grow in his designated field of occupation. Lastly, he chose four topics selected by the students namely Purpose, Hustle, Mission and Passion and as to how their interconnection, interdependency, cohesiveness, reliability and congruency help shape the life of an individual and as to how to imbibe all of them as per his experiences and challenges in life.
Pratik Sonawane, an expert instructor at Jaguar India, the marketing manager at Indikarting (Pune), a racing instructor at Rayo Racing Academy and a consultant for RR Motorsports Managements. Pratik also took part in Saloon Racing and finished 4th in the national championship, held earlier this year. Handling 4 different job profiles has certainly made him a professional multi-tasker as well. The AMA was conducted on 3rd December, 2018, Monday in TY-B and the alumni spoke about his life after BBA and how he multitasked his way through handling a restaurant, a photography studio and also his passion for car and bike customization. He further motivated students to be bold take a leap of faith, believe in themselves and do something productive and not sit idle. He also spoke about health – social, mental and physical and how it is very important in shaping up a person completely. The students had a very interactive session with Pratik and loved his passion for what he does. Pratik will soon be apply for his master’s degree in the field of marketing, we wish him all the best and hope to see him again at SCMS, Pune..
On July 14, 2017, the Alumni Cell conducted its 1st AMA for the session 2017-18 with Palak Sachdeva.
Palak is an alumnus from the batch 2009-12. Even though she graduated from SCMS with a BBA degree in Accounts and Finance, her love for photography and marketing pushed her towards the world of Digital Marketing. Soon after graduating, she began working with a renowned digital marketing agency – Convonix, where she worked on clients like Kotak Securities, Pride Hotels and Resort, and Kodak.
A while after, she moved back to Pune and Joined Xebec. While at Xebec, she got opportunities to work on Ramoji Film City, Maharashtra Tourism, Phoenix Market City, Symbiosis International University and lots more. Next, Palak flew to Cox & Kings India, Mumbai which was a life changing experience for her. She handled special projects like Masterchef Travel, GOSF, and promotions of New Zealand Tourism Board, South Africa Tourism Board, Australia Tourism Board, etc.
Finally, after a year of virtual travel with Cox & Kings, Palak founded WIZTRAH in 2015, with the goal of creating and executing the most unique, fresh and par excellence brand and marketing ideas. Starting with a single resource – Palak herself – in 2015, today Wiztrah has grown to a team of 10 dedicated professionals in the span of just 10 months.
On July 21, 2017, the Alumni Cell conducted its 2nd AMA with alumnus Rushil Walia, from batch 2008-11.
After graduation from SCMS, Rushil worked as a marketing executive at Thomas Cook for one year, moving on to working as a Research Apprentice at Evershine Consultancy Services for another year.
Rushil then moved on to working at Zomato, which was something he had wanted to do ever since he graduated college. There, he headed the Subscription Sales vertical for Zomato India West, with revenue accountability for Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and Indore, while leading a sales team of 25. During his time there, he was also sent to Brazil for 6 months, to set up international teams for Zomato.
His career progression till then was: Sales Manager (Aug '12) -> Key Account Manager (Jun '13) -> Area Sales Manager (June '14) -> Head, Subscription Sales - Mumbai (Jan '15).
In 2015, Rushil got the wonderful opportunity to work at Google. He worked as a Business acquisition manager for 1 year and is currently working as the Agency Relationship Manager.
After 6 years of hard work and dedication towards his professional life, Rushil is now planning to go forward with an MBA. The session was very interactive and had students engaged till the very end. We wish Rushil all the best for his future endeavors!
On July 25, 2017, the Alumni Cell conducted its 3rd and 4th AMA with alumnus Shivam Singh, from batch 2012-15. AMA 3.0 was conducted in FY A to discuss about the internship opportunities available. AMA 4.0 was for environment specialization TY students to give details about the Climate Reality Project.
After graduation from SCMS, Shivam completed his PG degree from XLRI, JAMSHEDPUR. He is not only an avid academician but has participated as Youth Diplomat at Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Govt. of India. He is a Member of Diplomacy Panel representing India in COP21, Paris. He also helped to change the donation policy of ‘BHUMI’ NGO, which generated 50% more donation
He is currently holding position as Vice-President at Indian Youth Congress and is the mentor for Climate Reality Project. His talk was mostly directed for environmental specialization students about the internship opportunities etc. We wish Shivam all the best for his future endeavors!
The Alumni cell organised the AMA 5.0 & 6.0 on 8th September'17 in FY – E and FY- C respectively. The AMA was conducted by Vishal Keswani and Akshay Mukund of batch 2013-16. Vishal Keswani is former International Representative, Student Council 2015-16 whereas Akshay Mukund is former Encore head, and Technical and Productions HOD, Sympulse '16. Currently, Vishal is an Account Manager at Mazkara Internet, and Akshay is serving as an Account Executive at Jumbo Electronics. The two created an instant connect with the classes discussing about the recently concluded Cult nights. The two covered multifarious topics ranging from their first day at college to their mesmerizing Sympulse journey. The first years also poured out their inquisitive minds, settling all doubts they had. All in all, Vishal and Akshay presented a blue print to the three good years ahead at SCMS for the first years, giving the first years a lot to lookout for.
The alumni cell organized the AMA 7.0 on 21st September 2017 in FY-E. The AMA session was conducted by John Tushar of batch 2009-12. John Tushar was a highly active and participative student during his college days. He has been the part of the creative department for two years in a row (2010 and 2011). He was also the part of the headlines department for the year 2012.
John was also the part of organizing team of Conoscenza . He also was the part of the hospitality department. Currently John runs his own business and is the owner of morph studios and has gained work experience across the following platforms:
Through the session John shared his experience during college time and also shared his experience on his way to becoming a successful entrepreneur. The first years had a lot of fun as they learnt a lot about the corporate world. The audience asked a lot of questions to John about the problems that they might face after college. Overall the session was a learning and joyful experience not only for the first years but also for John as he relived his old memories that he had from his college days.
The Alumni Cell organised AMA 8.0 on 26th September, 2017. It was the first AMA conducted via Skype in Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune. It also successfully kicked off our sessions of ‘AMA beyond the classrooms’ - E-AMA sessions for those alumni who are not able to come to SCMS, Pune personally, but are still interested in sharing their knowledge and experiences with our students.
The AMA session was conducted by Ashish Thadani of batch 2005-08. Ashish worked for KPMG, doing consulting for 6 years and then did his MBA from Esade in Barcelona. He is now working with AB InBev (the world’s largest brewery) in their Global Internal Audit team.
Through his session, Ashish gave his valuable suggestions on career choices and his stance about BBA and MBA from India and abroad. He shared his experiences in the industry and advised students to focus on skill development. Despite a few technical glitches and slight communication problems, our first Skype session conducted by the Alumni Cell was a wonderful learning experience for the first years.
On December 19th, 2017, the Alumni Cell conducted its 9th AMA with alumnus Jatin Maharao, from batch 2005-08. AMA 9.0 was conducted in FY D from 10 30 am onwards.
Jatin is currently working as a Senior Consultant, Strategic Sourcing with GEP in Mumbai. Prior to this he was working with Ashland Chemicals in Rotterdam Netherlands as a Sourcing analyst. He has an MSc in Supply Chain Management from the Rotterdam School of management and 7 years of experience in the supply chain management.
The session was intriguing and fruitful as there was tremendous two-way communication with the students throwing questions after questions and Jatin relinquishing their inquisitiveness with prompt answers. He even advised the students about certain decisions they must take in the coming year, leaving the students a lot to think about. He also talked about how BBA from SCMS, Pune helped in his professional career.

On the Alumni Cell conducted its 10th AMA with alumnus Shivam Singh, from batch 2012-15. This AMA session was conducted for all first year students from FY A to FY E and aimed to instill in them an inclination and liking towards research. Shivam alongwith a team of aspiring entrepreneurs has started a new venture ExploreiT, to address the gap between research and the students, especially the ones pursuing their undergraduate.
The venture and session was aimed to provide academic support hold workshops for the college students, hold bridge courses for tough subjects for the college students, get corporate and service learning internships in prominent companies and NGOs, provide them with the counseling services, provide strong support to the students in writing research papers, organize Heritage walks, Inspirational visits, and Eco trails to promote practical Research.
The session ended by providing students with a hope to inculcate research atmosphere.
The Alumni Cell conducted it’s 12th AMA session in FY-E on the 6th of February at 2:30PM. Alumnus Amanjot Singh (Batch of 2012-15) came with his two colleagues - Mr. Seemanth and Mr. Bharat.
Amanjot is currently working as a scuba diver with Absolute Scuba in Yerwada, Pune. Absolute Scuba started in 2012 in Pune. It hold a world record of making the biggest human chain underwater. They certify and give people license for scuba diving. Prior to this he was working with KPMG where he worked for 2 years. He met Seemanth, who is the co-founder of Absolute Scuba, a year ago. Amanjot is a certified Scuba diver and has a license to practice the sport anywhere in the world. During the AMA session he shared his experiences about the life underwater and what goes unnoticed in the liquid world. His colleagues also brought the equipments that one uses to go underwater, showed and explained each part to the class.
It was a very interactive and intriguing session as the students learnt a lot in terms of scuba diving, which in Seemanth’s words is a “recreational noncompetitive buddy sport”. Amanjot also spoke about how being a part of Symbiosis and all the extra-curricular activities that it offers actually helped him built the confidence to take a step towards trying something new.
